Professor Regina Connolly is Director of the Health Technology Impact Assessment Research Centre at Dublin City University. Her research focuses on the strategic application and impact assessment of technology, in particular eHealth technologies, as well as the development of eHealth business models. A regular speaker both in Ireland and internationally, she has presented on Connected Health Business Models at the European Parliament.
Her research work is highly regarded and has been recognised with a number of international awards and distinctions including the Villanova University Research Excellence Award of Merit and Government Information Quarterly’s Inaugral Best Research Paper Award. She serves as Editor-in- Chief of the Journal of Internet Commerce. She is Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems, Senior Editor of Information Systems Management and is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Advanced Decision Sciences. She also acts as an expert evaluator for the European Commission.
She has significant expertise in healthcare technology impact assessment as well as eHealth business model development and is a Lead Principal Investigator in several international Ambient Healthcare Technology research projects that have recently been awarded over 8.43 million euros in funding from the European Commission.
In 2008, she was appointed by the Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, T.D., to the Medical Council of Ireland. In 2012, she was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of Governors of the National Orthopaedic Hospital of Ireland, Clontarf.
