Historic agreement reached with Ocean Treaty agreement

After a battle for decades, nations have finally reached an agreement to protect the worlds oceans.  Signed off at the UN Headquarters in New York the new treaty (High Seas Treaty) aims to put 30% of the seas into protected areas by 2030. This is to protect, conserve, recuperate and preserve marine nature. The negotiations had been held up for years over disagreements on funding and fishing rights.
