Putative risks include cancer acceleration, teratogenic defects and increased bone density. In this review we will conduct an examination of the evidence surrounding the risks and benefits of fluoride delivered via the water supply for population health. We will examine the policy decisions taken by other European countries and compare these with the decision taken by the Irish Government.
