Water Officer Ruth Clinton represented DCU Water Institute last Tuesday 1st October at the annual Business Matchmaker and Research Showcase 2019 in the Helix, hosted by DCU Invent and DkIT. A great audience was present on a stormy Tuesday morning, with talks from a variety of guests including Water Institute member Prof. Noel O’Connor speaking for the Insight Centre on ‘Industry – Academic Collaborations: Learning Where to Look.’
The showcase was opened by DCU President Brian McCraith and hosted by the CEO of Invent and DCU Director of Commercialisation, Mr. Richard Stokes.
The event included a mammoth 120 face-to-face meetings of 15 minutes duration each. Is is the hope that these meetings will facilitate the beginnings of collaborations between researchers and industry. The event, now in its fifth year was successfully coordinated by DCU Invent in collaboration with Dundalk Insitute of Technology.
