Masters student Dylan O’Flynn this week presented ‘Lifecycles Assessment of Pharmaceuticals in Irish Surface Waters’ at the second International Conference for the Risk Assessment of Pharmaceuticals in the Environment. The conference was an opportunity for academics, students and industry to come together and discuss knowledge gaps and future prospects. By 2050 antimicrobial microbial resistant bacteria will kill more people than cancer. It is time to know what risks pharmaceuticals pose to our health and to the environment.
