We are delighted to announce the launch of the 2025 Water Café, featuring contributions from water enthusiasts, specialists, policymakers, citizens, academics, businesses, and NGOs.
Established in 2015 The DCU Water Institute Water Café is an informal engagement initiative designed to bring together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and community members to discuss pressing water-related challenges and solutions. It serves as a platform for open conversations on topics such as water quality, sustainability, citizen science, and emerging technologies in water monitoring and treatment.
Key Features of the Water Café:
- Casual, Interactive Discussions: Encourages open dialogue rather than formal presentations.
- Cross-Sector Participation: Engages academics, government agencies, industry partners, NGOs, and local communities.
- Knowledge Sharing: Facilitates the exchange of ideas and research findings.
- Citizen Science Integration: Promotes public involvement in water stewardship initiatives.
By creating a relaxed setting for discussion, the Water Café has helped bridge gaps between research and real-world applications, fostering new collaborations and inspiring action on water-related issues in Ireland and beyond.
The 2025 Water Café schedule is listed below. Sessions will follow a hybrid format, with in-person meetings typically held in the Water Hub, depending on attendance. Those joining via Zoom will need to register in advance to receive the link.
