As April is officially citizen science month and before it comes to a close, we would like to acknowledge and thank all of our citizen scientists friends and groups around the country.
Your work, enthusiasm and commitment has allowed us to continue and further develop our research. It also contributes to allowing Ireland to be a beautiful and natural landscape and a protected, safe and clean environment for our children’s children.
We here at the Water Institute have our BACKDROP project ongoing along the River Liffey with all of our friends at RBC, individuals and kayakers all playing their part. We will have our annual WaterBlitz in September 2020 all going well and we have plenty of other exciting projects taking place in the next year, so we really ask you to stay engaged and stay in contact.
We have all learned a huge lesson in the past few weeks, that is, our behavior can change and change fast to protect our health. We can and we must do this also for our planet.
We look forward to engaging all of Ireland in citizen science and driving forward our strategy to engage society with more relevant projects for citizen involvement over the next year.
