DCU Water Institute PhD IN MARINE BIOFOULING:

A study investigating community impacts on biofilm formation on bio-inspired textured materials. Studies will involve development of textured surfaces on materials deployed in the ocean energy or monitoring technologies. The study of biofilm community structure, attachment strength and hydrodynamic effects will inform the development of new materials for marine applications.

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate with a BSc. in Engineering, Analytical Science, Chemistry, Applied Biology, Physics or equivalent and a keen interest in environmental monitoring and marine science to work as part of a multidisciplinary team on this ambitious project.
