BACKDROP Citizen Scientist Training

At the end of August the Water Institute held a training session for new citizen scientists as part of BACKDROP, a project aimed at regularly monitoring the quality of water along the river Liffey. The group learned how to record visual components of the area they were sampling and carried out tests on nitrates, phosphates, and turbidity at the National War Memorial Gardens in Kilmainham.

If you live by or are a regular user of the Liffey and you’re interested in monitoring its water quality, see more info by clicking here.
