There has never been a more important time to innovate your business than now. Strategic R&D has been the key to many businesses survival and adaptation to the climate we find ourselves in today. Companies are going to need to become more sustainable themselves and deliver their product or services in the most environmentally friendly way possible in the future.

There are plenty of opportunities to jump start many aspects of any innovation ideas you may have to do this. By collaborating with a knowledge provider such as DCU you will be amazed at the talent, skills and advice we can offer around innovating your business.

Collaborations between industry and universities have given ignition to many major discoveries. Endeavours to find solutions to complex environmental, social and economic challenges have increasingly required collaboration between universities and industry because few organisations have the internal capacity to deliver all aspects of an R&D project on their own. We fully embrace this exemplary and are dedicated to engaging with all businesses however small or large the concept may be.

To do this, the Water Institute along with all other DCU research institutes and centres work closely with DCU Invent on an ongoing basis. DCU Invent is the university’s commercialisation and technology transfer unit where they work alongside companies and organisations in bringing research to the marketplace. They are core to numerous innovative University outputs such as spin outs, spin ins, many successful innovative partnerships, development of intellectual property and licencing.

On October 22nd 2020, DCU Invent in partnership with DkIT is inviting all company owners and managers who are interested in starting or continuing their R&D journey to join them for a virtual showcase event where they will demonstrate the many opportunities available for university/business collaboration and illustrate some examples of current partnerships, substantial funding supports available and the immense positive impact R&D can have on your business.
